This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) applies to any information that may be submitted to Oxentt, through the Website https://www.aba-world.com (the “Website”) and/or the Oxentt mobile Application (the “App”), which distinctively or collectively form the Platform. By visiting the Platform you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy for any information you provide and have provided in the past through the Platform, or those collected from your usage of the Platform. If you are uncomfortable with our policies and practices, please do not provide any personal information to us through the Platform and amend your browser setting. We want you to understand how and why we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our Platform and/or when you interact with us or receive a communication from us. As used in this Privacy Policy, the terms “you” and “your” refer to each visitor to the Platform, and the terms “we,” “our,” “us,” and “Oxentt” refer to the Oxentt Business Community.
Oxentt understands how important privacy is to our members. We need to collect your personal data to govern and provide you with the services you've subscribed to, to tailor our services and content to your preferences, and to conduct our business operations and activities, along with improving and marketing our services, in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We are dedicated to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring that you are aware of how your user information is being used.
What personal information do we collect. When you apply for membership, we ask for basic information such as your name, contact information, email address, phone number, photo, personal physical address, and company information (legal documents, phone number, logo, photos and company’s physical address). Using your device’s settings or via pictures you may also choose to share your precise location. Even if you opt not to reveal your actual location, we may use your IP address or geolocation tools to approximate your location. You'll also have the option of sharing personal information like your gender, age, and preferred language. When you register with the Platform, we collect the necessary information to proceed with your registration to the Platform, namely your name, email address, physical address, payment information, business scope, valuation, and other autobiographical information, and you can also provide additional information in your profile, such as your phone number, instant message identifier, birthday, marital status, professional experience, education, relatives’ names… Thereafter, you may require to provide a username and password. Unlike your password, your username is public, and it has to be related to your real name or company name.
When you visit the Platform, we receive data about your interaction with various functionalities, such as voting, reporting, following, friending a member, subscribing and joining a group, sharing information with other members via chats, etc., posting and/or commenting and your reports and other communications with moderators and with us. Other members may also provide us with information about you, such as when they add you to a group. We keep track of your use of Oxentt member services so that we can better understand our members' needs and assess the value of our help. We also collect demographic information from other sources, where permitted by law, to help us learn more about member traits and requirements. All of this information helps us better serve you, our Oxentt member, and improve our services.
Why and when do we collect personal information. Oxentt gathers personal information from you in order to carry out its operations and activities, promote and sell our services, and provide you with such services. We collect your personal information when you visit and submit data on the Platform (e.g. to publish content, information, etc.).
Please note that by registering through the Website or the App, or by otherwise providing information on the Platform, you understand that the data that you provide to us will be transferred to and processed in France.
What technical information we collect. Like any other Website, when you use our Platform (either Website or App) certain internet and electronic activity information gets created and logged automatically.
- • Log data / Usage data. When you use our Platform, our servers collect information (“log data”). This log data includes your Internet Protocol address (which we use to infer your approximate location), browser type, operating system, referral URLs, pages visited, links clicked, the requested URL, and search terms.
- • Cookie data. To collect log data, we utilize "cookies," which are little text files transmitted by your computer each time you visit our Website and are unique to your Oxentt account or browser. We utilize session cookies (which stay until you exit your browser) and/or persistent cookies (that last until you or your browser delete them). For example, cookies are used to remember your language preferences or other settings so you don't have to do so each time you visit our Platform.
- • Location Information. Information about your location may be received and processed by us. For example, with your permission, we may gather information about your mobile device's precise position (for example, by using GPS or Bluetooth). We may also receive location information from you if you choose to share it on our Services, such as by linking your content with a place.
What information we collect from Other Sources. If you connect your Oxentt account to a third-party account (like LinkedIn, Google, etc.), we may receive information about you and combine that information with the other information we have about you. The information may include log and usage data and cookie information from third-party. This may help you to use information from those accounts, dependent on the privacy policies of the third-party accounts, to improve your Oxentt experience. You can control whether if we can use this information by connecting or disconnecting your Oxentt account with these services.
What we do with the info we collect. We may process your information for the following purposes:
- • Identify you when you join the Oxentt Platform
- • Verify the authenticity of your personal and company’s information
- • Advise you of any missing info you have to provide
- • Send newsletters you are subscribed to, (e.g. inform about any Oxentt event)
- • Recommend topics or categories you might like based on your activity or preferences
- • Suggest other members who have similar interests
- • Aid other members to find you
- • Respond to your questions or comments
- • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- • Research and develop new services
- • Technical notices, updates, security alerts, bills, and other administrative information will be sent to you.
- • Advise you about products, offers, and information we think will be of interest to you
- • Work with law enforcement and keep Oxentt safe.
- • Conduct researches on who is using the Oxentt Platform, are they following the policies and what are they doing.
Transferring of information. Oxentt is a worldwide Platform. By using our products or services you permit us to transmit and store your information outside of your home country, for the reasons indicated in this policy.
Protecting your information. We take steps to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, and destruction. When transmitting information, for example, we use HTTPS.
Choices you have about your info. When you use our services, you have options for protecting and limiting the collection, use, and sharing of information about you.
- • Retrieving and Editing Information in your profile. You can modify your profile information and determine whether if your profile is searchable and/or whether others can find your Oxentt account using your email address.
- • Controlling linked services and accounts. You can alter any permission you have granted to access your account and revoke any of the services you favor from your settings. You can also decide whether you want to publish an activity on a third-party’s services or not.
- • Controlling the usage of cookies. You may normally set your browser to remove or reject first- and third-party cookies if you wish. However, the default setting in most web browsers is to accept cookies. As such, please be aware that removing or rejecting cookies may have an impact on the availability and performance of our Services. - • Adjusting Mobile Notifications. You may send push notifications or alerts to your mobile device. At your convenience, you can deactivate these notifications from your settings.
- • Adjusting location information. If you initially granted us permission to collect more accurate location data from your device, you can opt-out at any time by adjusting your mobile device's choices.
- • Deactivate your account. You may decide to close or delete your account at any moment. Once deactivated we will remove your data from the Oxentt Platform. Please bear in mind that there may be legal reasons for us to maintain your data, such as if we get a request from law enforcement as well as for other business purposes like complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing the agreements to which Oxentt is a party. Certain information may also be stored in our backup systems for a limited time or as required by law.
Social Sharing Features. We allow you to share content or actions you take on our Services with other social media. Depending on the settings you establish with the third party that provides the social sharing function, your use of these tools allows you to share certain information with your acquaintances or the general public. Please see the privacy policies of the third parties that provide these social sharing services for further information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing in connection with these social sharing features (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumblr and Twitter).
Information Sharing. Unless indicated the contrary on your registration form, all members of the Oxentt Platform can see your profile information, we may share your personal information on Oxentt Platform, such as in the "New Oxentt Member" area, as well as with Oxentt entities, such as Oxentt Area Boards located internationally, as well as companies we have selected to provide Oxentt services or support Oxentt operations by allowing them to use the information only under Oxentt’s instructions and in order to offer the contracted services to Oxentt and Oxentt members. We may share information with vendors, consultants, and other service providers who require access to perform work for us. Personal data will be used with suitable confidentiality and security safeguards in place. We would disclose your information with a party involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, reorganization, or similar transaction or proceeding that involves the transfer of the information outlined in this Policy. We may release personal member information on the rare occasions when it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulations, or legal request; or to protect the public’s safety, rights, property, or defend Oxentt and its members in compliance with Applicable law; or to identify, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical concerns. As mentioned explicitly in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell or rent member information to sales representatives, mailing list brokers, or other entities. If we feel it is essential to protect a person from imminent and serious damage, we may share information. We may share information, if we feel your actions are in violation of our policies, or if we need to defend our own or others' rights, property, or safety, we may share information.
Our rights with respect to your personal information. You may be entitled to access the personal information we hold about you under relevant law. Under normal circumstances, if you seek access to your personal information, we will comply with your request. However, we may be able to prohibit access for legal, technical, or administrative reasons. If we deny your request for access to your personal information, we will provide you with reasons for the denial if we are required to do so by law. By signing into your account and updating or changing your profile at any time, you can access and correct some of your personal information on the Platform. Alternatively, you can contact our Central Office and request access.
Oxentt makes every effort to guarantee that any personal data we collect and utilize is accurate, complete, and updated. To help us with this, you must submit true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself and your company as requested. Please notify us if any of the personal or corporate information you supplied us changes, for example, by updating or changing your profile, or by contacting us in any of the ways listed below if you believe the personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, and we will update the information.
Changes to the Policy. This Privacy Policy may be updated from occasionally. If this occurs, we will notify you by updating the date at the bottom of the Policy and mentioning it on the Oxentt Platform. We encourage you to read our Privacy Policy whenever you visit or use our Services or otherwise contact us so that you are aware of our data practices and how you may help protect your privacy. You agree to be bound by the amended policy if you continue to use our Services after the changes to our Privacy Policy take effect. The privacy protection policy is based on French Legislation in conformity with European Union’s norms.
